1. According to different manufacturing materials, rims can be divided into cast iron rims, steel rims and aluminum alloy rims. Cast iron rims are generally used for medium-sized trucks, which are characterized by low cost but poor heat dissipation; steel rims are generally used for large trucks. Compared with cast iron rims, they are characterized by better heat dissipation, but the cost is correspondingly higher Much higher; aluminum rims are generally used in cars, SUVs and other models.
2. Wheel rims can be divided into casting and forging according to different manufacturing methods. Casting is divided into gravity casting and low pressure casting. Gravity casting is to pour the liquid alloy into the mold and cool it into shape. Due to the simple manufacturing process and durable molding, it has become a lower-cost manufacturing method. Low-pressure casting is to press the liquid alloy into the mold with a small pressure, so that the distribution of metal molecules is even, and there are fewer sand holes, so that the shape can be more complex and delicate. Forged rims use thousands of tons of pressure to press a piece of alloy into the shape of the rim, and the production cost is higher than that of casting. Due to the high pressure, the gap between the alloy molecules is narrowed, and the interaction force is large, so the entire rim needs less material to achieve sufficient rigidity, and the overall weight is lighter.
3. According to the different types of spokes, the rim can be divided into multi-claw type, radial type and cladding type. The multi-claw type adopts the traditional slim 5-claw or 6-claw design, which is a classic and attractive style. This design is very helpful for the heat dissipation efficiency of the braking system. As for some 3-claw or 4-claw rims, although they can help dissipate heat, due to too few supporting spokes and poor domestic road conditions, their ability and strength to resist twisting and impact are worrying. The radial style adopts the multi-spoke style, and even has a tree-like shape design, which feels very sporty. Its balanced and symmetrical hollow space is very helpful for heat dissipation. The cladding type adopts multiple large-area spokes, which has a luxurious and high-end feeling, but it has no effect on the heat dissipation function, and some of them will produce heat accumulation due to the shape.
